Updated 17 October 2024

The California Bird Records Committee solicits information on all occurrences in California of the 185 Review List species, as well as species groups and hybrids on a supplemental list and species unrecorded in California.

In general, review species average two or fewer occurrences per year in California over the most recent ten year period. Documentation should be sent to the CBRC Secretary by e-mail to [email protected] or via this convenient form. We also seek documentation concerning the potential establishment of introduced species not currently on the state list but on our Watch List. Documentation for Watch List species go to the Introduced Birds Subcommittee.

The sequence of birds on this list has been updated to follow the 7th edition of the A.O.S Check-List of North American Birds, and supplements.
